“Adonai said to Moshe, ‘Tell the people of Isra’el, ‘In the seventh month, the first of the month is to be for you a day of complete rest for remembering, a holy convocation announced with blasts on the shofar. Do not do any kind of ordinary work, and bring an offering made by fire to Adonai’.” - Leviticus 23:23-25, CJB This coming Shabbat, on the 19th, is Rosh Hashanah. We will come together as a community to celebrate the coming of the new year, a new beginning. We will repent for our sins before God and reaffirm his sovereignty over us. We blast the shofar to examine our deeds, correct our ways, and return to him. We eat apples dipped in honey to symbolize the sweetness of a new year, and round challah for the circle of life. We celebrate God’s newness in us. He purifies us, makes us clean and he sets us free. On Rosh Hashanah our fates are written in the Book of Life, and on Yom Kippur we are sealed in it for another year. May your name be written and sealed for another year. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! “He must become more important, while I become less important.” - John 3:30, CJB To give yourself fully over to God, means letting go of everything you are. Who you are in Yeshua is different from anyone else. God's call for you, is for you and no one else. He changes you in such a way, that you don’t realize it till you look back one day and see how much you’ve changed. He sheds us of who we are and then he makes us who he wants us to be. In order for God to work in us, we have to put our trust and faith in him. We hold on to so many things of unimportance. We are never satisfied with less, so we accumulate more to make ourselves happy, but we are still never satisfied and never really content. That changes when we begin to trust and let Yeshua into our hearts. When we can say, “Yeshua, fill us more with you and less of us”, we begin to feel those strongholds come down. We are no longer afraid to let go of the things inside us, and the things around us. We are no longer trapped in the box we put ourselves in, because he sets us free. Everything we have become and will continue to be, is because we choose to put him first. He provides everything you need, and the rest is just fluff. Everything you are and everything you own, belongs to him. You’ll never know the things he can do for you until you let him in. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Monday Morning Inspirational By Rebbitzen Kat September 7, 2020 | 18th Ellul, 5780 “But if the people of a house or town will not welcome you or listen to you, leave it and shake its dust from your feet!” - Matthew 10:14, CJB Most of us know someone who is living a life apart from God. Our prayers for them is that they receive Yeshua into their hearts, because we are concerned for their salvation. We want them to receive all that God has to give. When we witness to them and they accept the Lord into their lives, that’s a happy moment, for us and them. Walking with the Lord is a great thing, and we want that for everyone. Unfortunately, he is not always fully received by some. We continue to witness to them, praying that what we are sharing will take root in them. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. They say they are walking with the Lord, but their actions aren’t showing it. They struggle because they don’t want to really let go of what they have. They eventually fall into their old lifestyle, abandoning Yeshua altogether. Just like with a village who won’t receive Gods word, we have to shake the dust off our feet and walk away. This is a hard thing for some to do, because they feel they’ve invested so much time, or that maybe they failed somehow. If Yeshua leads, it’s not wasted time. And we should not look at this as failing, because we have done what God has taught us to do. At some point, we need to hand them over to him, and continue to pray for their salvation. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Monday Morning Inspirational By Rebbitzen Kat August 24, 2020 | 4th of Ellul, 5780 Helping Hand “look out for each other’s interests and not just for your own. Let your attitude toward one another be governed by your being in union with the Messiah Yeshua:” - Philippians 2:4-5 CJB Are you someone who used to open doors for people, help a person up if they fell, help clean up or tear down after a gathering? Not many people help one another out these days since the pandemic started. While wearing masks and keeping socially distant shows we’re thinking of others, it’s also literally keeping people apart. Social graces are diminishing, because everyone is so fearful of getting Covid. God has made us a people to be social, to lend a helping hand when needed. God has made us a people to love one another regardless of what’s going on around us. We shouldn’t stop being who we are because society makes us feel we have to. Certainly we should wear our masks, wash our hands, and do anything else we need to do to protect ourselves and others. We should also still look out for the interests of others and let our attitudes be in union with Messiah Yeshua. As believers in Yeshua, we know that when we ask for Wisdom in what we need to do or how to act in any given situation, God will show us his wisdom. He would not lead us astray. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Monday Morning Inspirational By Rebbitzen Kat August 17, 2020 | 27th of Av, 5780 “And you shall love the Lord your God, with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might. And have these words, which I command you this day, be upon your heart. And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you retire, and when you arise. And you shall bind for a sign upon your hand and let them be frontlets between your eyes. And you shall write them on the doorposts of your house and upon your gates. “- (Sh’ma/V’Ahavta - Deut. 6:4-9, 11:13-21; Num. 15:37-41 This is one of the most important prayers in all of Judaism. It is said twice daily by Jewish people all over the world. It is a declaration of the basic principle of Jewish belief, proclaiming the absolute unity with God. This is a prayer that I believe all who follow Yeshua should pray daily. It is the foundation of our walk with God and also of how we should raise our children. We have so many people out there who are so lost, because God is not, or was not the foundation of their lives. Houses of worship should not be the only places we pray and worship. They shouldn’t be the only places we teach and learn from. His Word needs to be in our homes daily, so that when we go out into the world, we are prepared for anything the enemy throws our way. We need to teach it our children so they can grow to be God fearing adults, who are prepared for anything the enemy throws their way. So many children are not taught what it means to be in unity with God. So many adults are so busy during the week, that God’s teachings fall by the wayside. Then they go to their congregations on the weekend to get replenished. The children see this, and that is what they are learning. They learn that God only matters on the weekend. This world is a world full of chaos. God’s Word needs to be in our homes daily. Children need to learn to pray daily. When our children grow up in unity with God, then the world can be a safer place for them. “Train up a child in the way he should go; and, even when old, he will not swerve from it.” -Proverbs 22:6 Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Monday Morning Inspirational By Rebbitzen Kat August 3rd, 2020 | 13th of Av, 5780 With your ears you will hear a word from behind you: “This is the way; stay on it, whether you go to the right or the left. - Isaiah 30:21, CJB You have your whole day mapped out, and then something unexpected happens. You go to take the elevator, but take the stairs instead. You leave your house early one day for no reason. You decide to drive instead of fly. Whatever it is, it’s changed the whole day. We should not be frustrated when this happens; frustration will only lead you in the wrong direction. On the contrary, we should seek God in it. Whatever you had to do, God knew better. He had you take the stairs, because he knew the elevator would break down. He had you leave early, because he knew something would happen to make you late. He had you drive, because it was better for you to do so. God is constantly moving in our lives, and we need to always be alert. We make plans, but He guides our steps. Every day is a day of choices. When you hear that small voice, pay attention, God is guiding your steps. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Monday Morning Inspirational By Rebbitzen Kat The Sixth of Av, 5780 | April 27, 2020 "Be strong, be bold, don’t be afraid or frightened of them, for Adonai your God is going with you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.” - Deuteronomy 31:6, CJB The unrest we are facing in this country is gaining velocity. It used to be that when people thought of the USA, they thought of freedom. These days it seems that all freedoms are being dismantled, especially our religious ones. Christianity is being attacked and Antisemitism, although it’s always been there, has increased. So, what are we to do in all of this. We are to stand strong and be bold. If we are to continue to follow God, we cannot be easily disturbed or affected. We need to be courageous and confident in our prayers and stand with Yeshua. Yeshua is the light; he’s the God who saves. No matter where we are, he is always there inside us. And as long as we have him inside us, we have freedom of religion. Be bold and stand strong. We’re also able to see a lot more of what’s going on in the world. In light of recent events, what we see is a lot of hate toward others who are in disagreement of some things that are posted. When we as believers receive the hate speech ourselves, we should not respond in kind. It’s very easy to fall into another’s trap if we let the flesh lead us. We need to sit back and ask God for wisdom on how to answer those who attack. “ ... for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” Dear friends, when we are persecuted online for righteousness sake (Matt. 5:10), let us respond with grace, wisdom and reason from the word of the living God. Our calling is not to return anger for anger or hate for hate, but instead be Messiah's Ambassadors on earth! Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Monday Morning Inspirational By Rebbitzen Kat 14th of Tamuz, 5780 | July 13, 2020 “If I head east, he isn’t there; if I head west, I don’t detect him, if I turn north, I don’t spot him; in the south he is veiled, and I still don’t see him. Yet he knows the way I take; when he has tested me, I will come out like gold.” - Job 23:8-10, Complete Jewish Bible God is Faithful, God is good! You see Him in the things around you, you feel Him when you pray, you know He’s there in your times of trouble. Then there are those times when you ask, “God, where are you?” You’re going through some kind of trial in life, and you wonder why you have to go through it. I believe these are the times of growing you and refining you. You need to not let yourselves get downtrodden or to be angry at the situation you’re in, but to praise Him. He’s gotten you through before, He will do it again. Continue to Praise Him through the storm. Stay courageous through the trials of life. If you focus on the situation, you will miss what He has in store for you. He loves you, He will never leave you. No matter what life throws your way, He has you. Be at peace and praise Him always. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Monday Morning Inspirational By Rebbitzen Kat 14th of Tamuz, 5780 (July 6, 2020) “The things which we have heard and known, and which our fathers told us we will not hide from their descendants; we will tell the generation to come the praises of Adonai and his strength, the wonders that he has performed.”- Psalm 78:3-4, CJB For centuries there have been uprisings trying to obliterate God from society. Although on the surface it looks like they’ve succeeded, they haven’t really. For if they had, they would not still be fighting for their freedom from religion. Most recently, there are people who want to tear down statues of Yeshua/Jesus. Even if they succeed in that, God will not be obliterated. His word is written in our hearts. His word was given so that we may teach others. As it says in the V’Ahavta, “... And have these words which I command you this day, be upon your heart. And you shall teach them diligently to your children, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you retire, and when you arise. ...”. As long as we have oral tradition, God can never be erased. As we wait for Yeshua’s/Jesus’ return, we will proclaim, he was, he is, and he is to come. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed!
