“This is my command: that you keep on loving each other just as I have loved you. No one has greater love than a person who lays down his life for his friends.” ~ John 15:12-13, CJB Today is Memorial Day, a day to remember those who laid down their lives so that we may be free. Sadly, there are many that will take their freedom for granted, not realizing the many lives lost for it. Freedom isn’t free and we should always remember and never forget those men and women who sacrificed their lives for that freedom. God himself sent us his only Son Yeshua, who taught us what it means to lay down one’s life for those we love. His was the ultimate sacrifice. Just as Yeshua knew the outcome of what was to be, our men and women know that when they join the military, they may never come home. No one has greater love than a person who lays down his life for his friends”, or country. Let us remember today those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so we can continue to have our freedom. “Yeshua said, “I AM the Way — and the Truth and the Life; no one comes to the Father except through me.” -John 14:6, CJB I know we as believers have accepted Yeshua into our hearts, but we all have those friends or loved ones who haven’t. They believe God, and Yeshua exist, and that’s enough for them, stating, that as long as they live a so-called good life, they’re fine. They don’t think it’s necessary to be right with God before going to heaven. I had a conversation the other day on this very subject. My heart ached when I was told that it didn’t matter whether one renounced Yeshua in their life, they would still go to heaven. It is our responsibility as believers in Yeshua to pray for the salvation of those who don’t know the truth. We need to continue to pray that their eyes would be opened. We shouldn’t let them accept things as they are, but to seek out Yeshua and know that he is the only pathway to God. “There is salvation in no one else! For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by whom we must be saved!” - Acts 4:12, CJB Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! I’m not just talking about the general how we came to Yeshua testimonies, I’m talking about those things we’ve been delivered from, the many layers of life we’ve gone through to get to where we are. Yes, there are parts of our lives we like to keep private, but there are many people in our midst who are struggling with things that are very familiar to us. Things that they don’t think anyone else would understand. I think part of our job as ministry leaders, is to share our experiences in life so that others can see there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We have people out there that need to know that they will be okay, and they don’t need to live with hurt and shame. We learn, we grow, we move forward, but we should never forget where we come from. We need to tell how much God’s done for us. Be a Blessing and Be Blessed! Because of COVID-19, we were told to leave our congregations and stay in place at home. Many of us took the initiative and found other ways to continue our services through social media. Others went to the roadsides and drive-ins to reach their people. Still others found other innovative ways to do the ministry God called them to do. Ministry isn’t something that just stops because of change; it’s what we continue to do no matter the circumstances. We do this because it’s a part of us, it’s in our DNA. Many of us are honored that God would call us to ministry. He saw something in us that we didn’t. When things change around us, we need change with it. Our congregational settings will open back up soon, but social media is still going to be there. Whatever ministry God has called you to, this is a time to broaden our horizons. God has given us such a gift, we need to use it to our full advantage! Be a Blessing and Be Blessed!
