“But Ruth said, “Don’t press me to leave you and stop following you; for wherever you go, I will go; and wherever you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God will be my God.” ~ Ruth 1:16, CJB Ruth could’ve gone home to her mother after her husband died, but she chose to stay with her mother-in-law Naomi. It didn’t matter that Naomi had nothing to give, Ruth wasn’t going back to her old way of life, she wanted to stay with family she had grown to love. Most importantly, even when she didn’t know where this road with Naomi was taking her, she wanted to continue to follow the one true God. I have known many believers in Yeshua who have gone back to old lifestyles because of fear of the unknown, or afraid of what they might lose. I was there once myself, and I want to say that whatever you lose is not God’s intention for you. He does not want you to be a part of this world, but a part of his. You will hit obstacles along the way, but you need to be steadfast in your walk and not go back. I look back on my life and see how far he has brought me, and I know I did not get here on my own. God will not steer you wrong, he only has good for you all the days of your life. Step out in faith and trust where God is leading you. Go where he goes; stay where he stays. Be one with him.
