“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Yeshua his Son cleanses us from all sin.” - 1 John 1:5-7, ESV
When I became a new believer, I was introduced to the light; the light being Gods word and the people God surrounded me with, which told me how to live. Although I already believed in Yeshua, I learned more about who he was as a man on this earth. He was a man without sin. He did not compromise. When darkness (Satan) tried to entice him, he gave no heed to it.
Unfortunately, we are not like him, but we strive every day to be like him. For there are those of us that know what it’s like to walk in darkness and reap the ramifications from walking in that darkness. And though we all fall short at times, it’s his word, his light that keeps us on his path. “For what fellowship does light have with darkness?” 2 Cor. 6:14. We are tempted every day, but we should not let ourselves fall prey to the things of this world, and we should not let those around us fall either. We should not fall to those things that are not of God; those things that Yeshua himself would not do.
We will be invited by believers and non-believers alike to join in with much fun. If you ever get a check in your spirit of something you’re about to do, ask yourself, what Yeshua would do? It’s okay to say no, Yeshua did. Continue to walk in his light and be that light to those around you, that they may also come to know him.
